Mark Carney is not a 'foreigner', he is a Canadian and a British and Commonwealth Citizen.

Any Canadian born before c1983 has right of abode here in UK - and that includes Mark Carney who incidentally is married to an English woman.

Mark Carney was offered to BofE job before, but he turned it down.

George Osborne has pulled off a considerable coup in getting Mark Carney to take on the job of Governor of the Bank of England.

In Canada they have hardly noticed the recession and all this is entirely due to the clever fiscal work of Mark Carney.

In short, we are very lucky to have Mark Carney at the Bank of England when he takes over his new post.
