Why won't the video feature on instagram work for my android tablet?

I can view others videos but i cant upload either. Sometimes i hate being an andriod user. Ugh.

I updated my Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 specifically for this and it won't let me record videos. It will film a little but then just freeze and crash.

I can, however, view videos. So it's a little odd. I hope it's an Instagram glitch and not a phone breakdown.

Yes, you have to have android 4.1 and above. However, Im on the new Galaxy S4 with android 4.2.2 jelly bean and it still doesn't work for me as well. There are no video buttons or video features. It's just insta-smoke-and-mirrors video feature for me as well.

According to their update description, on the app store:

"Recording videos is currently supported on devices with Jellybean 4.1 and above. All Android versions can already play videos and we're working around the clock to enable capturing videos on many more Android devices."

So I guess we just have to sit back, watch, and wait smh

I'm having almost the same problem, but with me I can't see photos either! It won't even try, and I have an iPhone 3GS and I just updated an hour ago, they better fix it because I use instagram alot and I'm gonna quit if they don't.

Having the same problem on my lg optimus one. It gives a place for the video icon, but no icon itself is there

i have an android and was having the same problem, uninstall and reinstall instagram. that will let you view videos, but you still can't post them unless you have the 4.1 android or whatever. hope that helps!
